He's Back!
Our green eyed, silver tone Chubby Owl is ready to wear and come on an 18 in chain!
Perception, Wisdom, Deception, Silent Observation
The owl has played a part in folklore for a very long time, They can be seen in cave paintings in France that date back 15,000 to 20,000 years and they appear in ancient Egyptian carvings and hieroglyphics. It is a symbol wisdom and intuition and is associated with ancient goddesses such as Hecate, Blodeuwedd, Arianrhod, Athena and with the goddess as Crone. Owl people are able see clearly what is hidden. By seeing through the veils of deception and illusion they can see beyond appearances and find the truth of both people and situations. Owl likes to glide through the mysteries of life and adventure into unknown realms. Owl people know that darkness is their friend and tend to be at the height of creativity at night. When this great bird shows up in your life it is important to pay attention to what has flown beneath your radar. Owl also brings change and tells us that the time has come to let go of what no longer serves you, including habits, things and relationships.
In China, Japan and the Middle East this bird is an evil spirit and a bad omen. In some cultures the owl is also associated with death. Some native tribes believe that hearing an owl is a death warning, to anyone interested in this myth I suggest "I heard the Owl Call My Name by author Margaret Craven". However this is not true of all tribes. The Navajo believe owl is a messenger to the supernatural world, the Cherokee see owl as sacred because of it's night vision, and the Pawnee see it as a protective spirit.
There are about 205 species of owls. They range in size from the tiny Elf Owl at 5 in. to the Great Grey Owl at 28 in with a 6 plus foot wingspan. All are predators as well as nocturnal and are capable of silent flight. They have excellent vision and even better hearing and are truly one of the ultimate birds of prey.
