Our "Blessed Bee" bracelet is a fun twist on the Neo-Pagan greeting or farewell. It is a shortened version, meaning "May you be blessed by the Goddess."
This sparkly item honors the tiny worker known as the honeybee and the ancient deities that care for them. In ancient Egypt the goddess Neith was the Bee/Mother Goddess, the bee can be found featured on many temples like Karnak, Luxor, Tanis and on the Rosetta Stone. In Egyptian mythology it is said that bees were born from the tears of Ra when they fell on the desert sand.
Other deities associated with bees are :
In ancient Minoan-Mycenaean culture the bee was the sacred emblem of Potnia, The Pure Mother Bee and her priestesses were called Melissa (Bee). Priestesses who worshiped the Greek goddesses Artemis and Demeter were also called "bees" as were priestesses at Delphi.
Myths about bees appear in most cultures, like Africa's Kalahari Bushmen who tell of bee carrying mantis across a river. The tired bee left mantis on a flower and planted a seed in mantis's body before dying. From that seed came the first human.
The humble honeybee plays a major role in earth's ecosystem. Without bees to pollinate our crops and plants we would have no food. These tiny creatures are true treasures and should be cared for to the best mankind's ability .
Our bracelet comes in:
Rose Quartz: This stone is a wonderful healer of the heart and emotions, love, peace.
African Jade: Emotional balance and grounding, wisdom and protection
Purple Goldstone: Uplifts the spirit and protects the bodies center, brings good fortune.
Each one is accented with glass crystal beads, and a sparkly honeybee charm. Word and clasp is in antique brass tone.
